Minnie and a blanket

This has been toted literally all over the world. Chesnee got them before she turned 1, probably about 9 months or so and they went everywhere with her. I even bought a second and third one to switch out if need be and she would have NOTHING to do with the impostures! It went from Florida to Okinawa... On many trips including back to Texas, Idaho, California, Alaska, Hawaii and then made the move to Georgia.
Apparently I told her at some point she needed to get rid of it when she was 8. She came in one day from cleaning her room and handed me Minnie and blanket. She said "here you can take this now"... Tears were welling up in her eyes. Immediately I had tears too. Where did this come from!?!?
I told her she could keep it but she left it. It broke my heart. Ill keep it and give it to her one day.

Birthday balloons -55

You would have been 55. Your grand kids have grown and changed so much. Your kids are even totally different now... We all are. You left a huge hole that can't be filled but we celebrate the day you were born... The world became a greater place on April 19, 1958. A baby was born that was going to do great things, marry a great woman and have a blessed family. A family that would be the legacy you had always wanted. A son who loves his wife like you loved yours... Who has three kids... And they all have characteristics of you. Smart, headstrong, deep thinkers and big hearted... And good huggers!
A daughter that is strong willed and secure in herself, who has grown into her role of being a mom very well, been strong enough to stand up for herself and her kids to pursue happiness. She has three kids who remind us of you... Athletic, quiet but always thinking and sometimes out of left field hilarious.
You have that basketball team. I dare anyone to mess with them, especially if they were all to globe together!
A wife that has been strong when that's the only thing she could be. She's successful and beautiful and still carries a big part of you with her... And shares that with everyone, especially the grand kids... Y'all's grand kids.
Your legacy left was huge. You came into the world, left a mark and those great people are still shining your light into the world. Each and every one of us have a part of you we share...
We get slapped in the face by the calendar every year, reminding us of your life.. We miss it dearly but you were always in a hurry to get where you were going. You were always waiting on all of us :)

Easter festivities

I organized a streetwide glow in the dark egg hunt. It was a hit.

We also had the opportunity to participate in a Seder meal, the last supper.

Chesnee's big haircut

Well I always grow a little, cut a lot. Monty can't stand it. He will not, however, condone girl haircuts. Chesnee had to bribe, beg and plead to get a real haircut...

6 inches was agreed upon

Breakfast in bed was the price.

Yes he is MEASURING her hair and giving her the 6 inches allowance. This was a big ordeal...

Making her dad his breakfast!

Getting the haircut!

Before and After

Hammack Easter

So Monty gave me the biggest compliment on Easter when he saw me from across the parking lot and didn't recognize it was me.

We enjoyed church and drove to meet Connie half way from Macon to have lunch.

A new me

Been doing several things to loose weight and have changed quite a bit. I've lost 60 pounds so far. Here are some progressive photos I have and some just of me. This is a whole new take. I rarely let photos be taken of me...

Monty said he can see a big difference in just this one month.

This was late Nov, Jan and Feb
Late November to March

This one blows me away. I never saw myself that "big". I guess I was either desensitized or just in denial, probably both. I am glad that is behind me! 60 pounds down here and more to go!
